Sam's Shower

I threw my sister-in-law Samantha a bridal shower on Saturday. Soo weird that she is getting married. I have known her since she was Kenna's age. That is just weird. It was a lot of fun. I got some WONDERFUL recipes from my friend Niki and we played some great games. Of course, Sam got lots of really cool stuff, so I am really excited for her.

I have to tell you the funniest game ever to play. While Sam was opening her gifts I was writing down some random things she would say....
-Awe!!

-Oh my gosh, it smells so good, it smells sooo good!

-Yes, I have really long legs.
You get the idea. Anyways, when she was done I reread them as things she was going to say on her wedding night. HA. I was so disappointed she didn't mention how furry the bathroom rugs she got were. That would have been priceless.

Dad and Bubby's Quality Time...

Today I gave my sister-in-law, Sam, her bridal shower. While we were doing "girly stuff" Marcus and Brady went out to Whitten to shoot some guns. Chris (Sam's fiancee), his dad, Coltin, and a few guys Marcus works with went out. They took Chris and Sams huge freaking big screen TV (which was broke) out to "blow up". Nice.

Marcus and Brady. Marcus said the he spent over $100 on bullets. Chris spent about that. Both the guys from work spent $50 each....insane. Coltin has this really nice OOZI ( I know that is spelt wrong, but that is how it sounds... it is a ridiculous machine gunish sounding thing. Apparently it is 'Awesome'!!) But look how stinkin cute Brady looks. He was so excited to go. He wanted to know "How many more movies" til they left. That is his way of telling time. One American Gladiator is an hour...Spongebob is 30 minutes... so when he started asking it was 7 American Gladiators....Ugh. He asked every 20 minutes. Finally Marcus left 2 hours early cuz he was going insane ;o)

We had fun too...doing "girly stuff". Will post those later. I cannot believe how big he is getting. So sad.

Weekend With Papa Dave

Marcus' dad was in town this weekend. We went to the lake Sunday. It was absolutely beautiful. I am so sad the summer is almost over!! Insane how fast it went.

We had a lot of fun during his visit. We don't see them enough. We went and saw Kung Fu Panda on Monday (one of the summer movies)...I get a kick out of that show. It is too funny. Love Jack Black.

I think this is my shortest post ever. I wasn't too camera happy this weekend. I am sure Marcus was glad. ;o)

The DREADED talk....

So we were on our way to the movie, Nims Island (it is a summer special thing, you get to see oldish movies-$7 for 10 movies and the last 2 are usually newer releases...Wall-e and Kung Fu Panda..) Anyways.

I don't have any idea what brought it up but Brady wanted to know how babies get into mommy's bellies. It wasn't "Where do babies come from?" which is a lot easier to answer...but "HOW do they get there?"

Ugh.

So I try to get off easy.... "When moms and dads love each other a lot, they can make a baby to go inside mommys tummy"

-keep in mind Kenna and Marissa are in the car and we haven't had THE TALK with Kenna yet-

Didn't satisfy him AT ALL. "But HOW do they get there?"

I tried repeating the same answer over again, just with different wording. That didn't work. Okay, here I go...

"When mommys and daddys love each other a lot, they can do a special hug that helps the babies get in mommys belly". (Me grimacing, hoping that will be enough information)

Pause.....complete silence.

"So, then does Jesus just say the magic word?"

"Yup, buddy. He sure does."

Seriously. Where did he come from??

Brady's Black Eye...

Here is a better-ish picture of Brady's black eye, since you cant really see it in the other one. He was out on his scooter and crashed....and landed on the handle bar...with his eye. He came in freaking that his eye was gone. So sad. He was freaked.

My Brady is going to Kindergarten...

Seriously, I thought I was going to be ok. I was a mess with McKenna cuz she is our oldest. I know I am going to be a complete wreck with Marissa cuz she is the baby. But I thought I would be ok with Brady. Im not.

The freaking Bus Barn called this morning to see if Brady was going to ride the Kindergarten bus to school. That is all he has ever wanted to do is ride that bus. So yes he is. (Kinda crazy that I am letting him ride the bus when I take and pick up Kenna. Little kids learn WAY WAY too much on those buses - but it is ONLY Kindergarten so he should be safe...right??) That phone call stated me freaking. Then what do I do?? Go freaking school supply shopping!! Kenna had been bugging me for at least a week. Probably not the greatest idea I have ever had, but what do you do.

I am so going to miss him! Kindergarten is ALL DAY here! That is a lot for little guys. He is my buddy, my cuddle bug and my entertainment. Marissa is going to go crazy without him. Sniff. And to top it all off, he had to get a big boy backpack.... He had been using a "Jr Sized" and now the new one drowns him. But look how excited he is.




Bubby...I am going to miss you but I am so excited for you! You are going to be awesome and make lots of friends and just grow up way too fast for me. But you know what?? You are always going to be mine. Sniff.

Sidenote...check out his shiner. He wrecked on his scooter on Monday and is lucky to still have his eye. Handle bar...eek.

Busy, yet again...

Friday night we took the kids to the Demolition Derby out at the fair grounds. We had never been before and a guy that works with Marcus and Chris (JJ) has a car in it so we thought it would be a good time to check it out. Fun. Crazy. The boys LOVED it!! It is insane that after so much work, they completely total their cars. Insane. Marissa keeps asking to go "see the cars crash into the wall"...Cant wait for next year.

Brady and Matthew

Saturday we went to the Gorge. Shocker, I know. lol. We went up by the dam to Mustang Ridge. I think it is my favorite area of the Gorge. Beautiful. It was just me Marcus and the kids, which was really nice. We just anchored down and the kids swam. I love that. Nothing better than being on the water...especially on a beautiful day. When we were going through the canyons, you could smell the pine trees. Mmm...Love.

Brady. I believe he was making a "warm spot". He was giggling. He is such a nut.

So happy. Ha. Marcus had pushed her back into the water after she was getting out. She was sooo not happy. Drama.

We got back into town and went to moms house for a BBQ. Jed and Chelsea are in town. They are too funny.

After some yummy food, we came home. Sam, Chris and our friend Richard and JoAnn were over for fight night...although, we never got around to watchin the fights. We just sat upstairs chatting.

So...I'm beat. Marcus and Brady just left to go with my dad and brothers to shoot guns. I couldn't convince Marcus to take my camera though :O( So sad. Brady was sure excited to get to go with. Next time I will have to go too, with my camera.

I was looking through my sister in law, Chelsea's, pictures from Cancun on her myspace page and this is one that totally cracked me up. I am such a cheese ball, it is ridiculous....not the most photogenic of the bunch which is why I am usually BEHIND the camera lens... Coltin's face....oh, makes me giggle.

Expedition Island Park

I am the worlds biggest procrastinator. Seriously. And since this is the case, I had to drive my expired tagged van to Green River to get new tags so I don't get a big fatty ticket. I am just lucky I made it before that did happen. ;0)

Since Artic Circle wasn't an option (sigh...freaking diet) I took the kids to Expedition Island Park. We had only been once and that time we weren't dressed to get wet. So while my kids played for about 2 hours, I started re-reading the last half of Eclipse. I am SOO excited for Breaking Dawn and am beside myself. AND my mom is taking my kids to my cousins wedding in Idaho tomorrow and Sunday!!! PERFECT timing! I am sure Marcus will appreciate our rare alone time with my nose buried in a book. What do you do? Lol.

Anyways...the park. Way fun. Of course my kids are insane and think they need their goggles to run through sprinklers?!? Whatever. They had fun.

Miss Marissa. Wasn't too brave with the water, which is retarded since she loves swimming lessons and the pool. Once she did decide to get wet, my camera battery died. Of course.
