Schedule

The best thing about school starting is the schedule. For sure. I love having the kids in bed by 8:30 and having me some Marcus time. I love the time just Sean and I get to have while they are gone. I love that they get to go hang out with their friends and I love to hear the stories they tell when they get home each day. I still HATE getting out of bed in the morning and that crazy chaotic time from 3:30-4:15 where we read and get homework done. But I like the routine of things….most days.

We had our first break from the routine for Labor Day. We went down to Summersville and met a few guys Marcus works with and their families. It was super fun. Really. We had beautiful weather…until late afternoon where we were forced off lake by lightening. Awesome. But it was fun. We anchored down and kids played on the big blow up thing and had a blast. I have to say that Ken finally got on the tube again. Like for real. Not the riding in circles and trying to make tube sink kind of tubing, but the holding on for dear life tubing. Ah. Finally. So. Much. Fun. I hate that this was our last time out though. Sad. I was REALLY hoping for another weekend.

Sean got into the lake for the first time. I know, you are all thinking, how mean, the water is sooo cold. But we don’t live in crazy freezing water land anymore. Here, water is nice and bath waterish. Really, it is. You really should come see. All of you. Well, next year, I guess. Sean loved it.

Sarah wiping out down the slide and her momma Heidi and brother Caleb on the tube. Crazy fun. Really, it was.

Labor Day Weekend 273

Little guy hanging out on the boat. Seriously, so good. Just hangs, goes with the flow. And so so stinking sweet!!

We got a little bit of rain so we put him in the bow of Greg and Alana’s boat. It worked great. He just slept….when he woke up, he just started to look around….

DSC00186DSC00187

And Marissa hung out as well…eating all sorts of junk. One of the best parts of boating, right??

Then somewhere in the mix, we have a teenager. Really?!?  So so weird. Ken is awesome though. We couldn’t ask for a better one if we have to have one. She is so helpful, completely goofy, crafty, loves to sing (and actually can), knows EVERY song on the radio, no exaggeration, loves to read and shop. We are pretty lucky.

We had the neighbors over for cake and ice-cream. I made the cake, from scratch. Yeah, It wasn’t done. At all. I am surprised I didn’t give anyone food poisoning. lol. One day I will be a baker….or maybe not.

September 001

Neighbors. Crisers, Reynolds, Petersons and Franklins. We really do have the bestest neighbors ever.

September 021September 030

Fugly Skullcandy headphones she was DYING for. Really? Remember how excited we were when they came out with the little ear buds so we didn’t have to wear these huge things? Yes, things really do come back into style….

Charlie, the rock star and Jo with Scarlett.

September 046September 043

Kenna had TWO sleepover birthday parties, yes, TWO! Little stink. She had one with just church friends and another with school friends. It was totally crazy, but she had a blast. Even with the NINE 12 and 13 yr olds, we had no drama. How amazing is that?? I don’t know that I have any pictures from either sleepover though. Sad, I am sure Ken does somewhere, Ill have to look. I do, however, have this song permanently etched in my mind, from her and her friends. Check it out…you'll appreciate it. Really, its funny.

So, in other news, thanks to www.Pinterest.com I have had much too much inspiration. I want to make all sorts of things and have all sorts of ideas. If I could just get off Pinterest and do them. Ha ha.

But after showing Marcus one of my finds, he lit the fire and we whipped out a project. I LOVE it. Although, the whole reason I had to look for this type of project was because out builder used FLAT PAINT? Who does that? Horrible stuff. Anyways, so worth it in the end. Its called Batten and Board…..

In progress…. Painted the upper part of wall a few shades darker than the color used throughout the house. I really really like it. Then off to Lowes for some wood….

Then some measuring and leveling….

September 047September 048

And these are from my cell, so not the greatest, but I am much too lazy to go retake and upload from my camera. Sad.

Anyways, after 3 coats of white paint and me having a claw for a hand for 3 days, this is the finished product. I like it. Need to still hang stuff back up, but I like. Really makes the room look huge. And it is NOT flat paint so I can wipe fingerprints off it. Little things make for a happy momma.

And little man is pretty much sitting up. Love it. He is so cute and SUCH a good baby. Seriously. He is just mellow and goes with the flow. So happy and smiley and is such a good eater. He dive bombs for that baby spoon to the point where you are afraid he is going to shove it down his throat. He is super ticklish too. Its funny to hear his little squeaker laugh.

He has started giving ‘kisses’ too. Big slobbery ones. I love it.

And took kids to get their eyes checked. So far no one needs glasses, but look how cute B was if he did.

I also finally downloaded the pictures from the diaper bag camera. Well, it is Marcus’ work camera I stole for a few months…:) Darn it though, he stole it back. Anyways here is some of the happening with a diaper bag in tow…

The Monongalia County Fair….and Demolition Derby. I have to say that it had NOTHING on the Derby in Wyo. But it was still a lot of fun. We sat on the hillside and watched cars smash into each other with some great friends.

And Sean at 5 months….. He will occasionally roll from belly to back, but then gets really mad cuz he is stuck on his belly. Doing that squeaky toy laugh. Hysterical, and one of my most favorite things.

Then, while Grampy and Teresa were her, we had quite the adventure. Grampy, Sean and I were at Lowes when Ken called from school. She was crying and asked if I could come get her….her belly was hurting. Said we would be right there. Of course, I am flashing back to May when she was admitted for 2 nights because of belly pain…and we never really found out the reason for it then. Just elevated liver levels…but never found out the cause for the levels to rise.

So we get to the school, I run inside. Thinking I was going to grab her and we would all go to lunch. Ha. So not the case…. When I got there, the office girls said “This girl is now saying that she can’t breathe, we need to get her parents here now.” I said, “McKenna? I am her mom.” They took me back and Ken was hyperventilating. She was already to the point were her hands were doing that funky posturing thing and cramping. I knew she was hyperventilating, so tried to get her to breath into her hands and slow down. Called my dad, who was in the car, and asked him to come in. He grabbed Sean and came in, having no idea what he was walking into. Ha ha. Ken was on the floor….Long story, short, Paramedics were called. She was taken to hospital by ambulance ON HER SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

They ran all the usual tests. Nothing came back crazy, liver levels were normal, so we were told to take her home and watch her. I guess when her belly was hurting, she thought of going back to hospital and that threw her into the panic attack. But she is fine and hasn’t had any problems since, so that is a good thing.

I swear, we have been to hospital more in the year we have lived her than we had the entire time we were in Wyo. And besides me having Sean, they have all been for Kenna!! She swears she left her immune system in Wyo. Funny girl.

Then my super awesome cousin Lindsey came to visit. She is living near DC right now and it is a short 3 hrs. away. We loved having her come hang out with us. She is awesome. Of course, we took her to the lake. Brady had to show off his awesome wakeboarding skills.

Here he is close to 6 months. At his 6 month check, Sean weighed 14 lbs. 11 oz., was 26” and head was 43 cm. Weight in 5th percentile….length and noggin right around 10%. He is a little guy, but still the biggest of our babies. He is rolling from back to front and front to back, doing that awkward sitting, where they lean forward…. He also does this “helicopter” thing were he pivots in circles while on his belly. Love him.

Today, we are going to attempt to paint stairway. Part of it is 2 stories high, so is going to be interesting. Dang builder and the flat paint!! Oh, well. We have almost made it thru the house, and it looks and feels so much better to have it done!

Come visit. Love, Us.
