Sean is so stinking sweet. Seriously. Happy happy baby all of the time. He is really smiling and giggling now. I love it. It is the cutest little squeal. He loves his daddy too. He can always get a big cheeky smile out of him.
We have also gone to Idle Wild… It is an amusement/water park. It was a lot of fun and we went early enough in the summer we didn’t die of heat. B was even big enough to go on every ride he wanted to, although, he was at the waterpark most of the day.
Me, Sean, Emily and Jo…. Luckily, Jo’s momma Holly was there to take Marissa on all the spinny rides. Riss is a die hard!!
B and Sean in the tub. Sean LOVES the water. Really. He loves to bath and shower with his daddy. B thought he was tough stuff having Sean in the tub with him…
Opening Day of Cars 2, and we went to the drive-in. It was a lot of fun. The first time in YEARS that we had been, the kids had a great time and it was so cheap!! My goodness, we need to do that more often! So worth the 20 minute drive! Cute cute movie.
Of course we have been to the lake a time or 2. Kids have this game where they dive/cannonball/can opener off the back of the boat and we have to judge who is the winner. Such goofs and quite the little competitors!!
We also went out to Chestnut Ridge Park for our Ward Picnic on the 4th. It was a lot of fun. Kenna and B did the paddle boats and were out there forever going round and round.
After a BBQ at Bobbie and Don’s we headed downtown to watch the fireworks. Kids raced around the parking garage on their scooters more than watch the fireworks, but had a great time.
Home again and had our own awesome firework show in the driveway. Marcus had bought these ridiculously huge sparklers. It was funny. Kenna turns into quite the pyro on the 4th…. So weird we have been in our house for a year now!!
My actual birthday was pretty uneventful. Uncle George, Aunt Cheryl, Dave, April, Natalie and Baby James were here. We just hung out and went for ice cream. April, Kenna and I danced our booties off to Just Dance 2. It was scary seeing all my extra jiggly parts jiggle, but was a lot of fun.
On the 12th, my girlfriends took me out to dinner. We went to Fujiyama for sushi. It was so much fun. Our hibachi chef was hysterical, had nicknames for all of us, Bobbie was Paris…we had Katy Perry, Britney, and Lady Gaga at the table as well. It was a lot of fun. I hadn’t had a birthday party since I was like 12. Love these girls!!
Jess and Hibachi guy. He was so funny. Had to post, even though Jess’s eyes are closed….
Me and Tonya
Then Jordan, Jo, Me, Jess, Bobbie, Heather and Tonya.
Another day at the lake. July 16, 2011. This is a day for the record books. One of my all time favorite days at the lake.
B had been bugging and bugging for a chance to try the wakeboard. B doesn’t like the tube…at all. So I really didn’t think he would do the wakeboard. Marcus told him that he could try and that he would get in the water to help him get going.
It didn’t take him long before he popped up. He was only up for a few seconds, but he had a taste and became quite the determined little man.
Soon he got up. For a really long time. Seriously…lots longer than I usually stay up. He was so so excited. I started getting further and further away from Marcus…I was really hoping that boats were paying attention!! But he just swam over to the side and hung out until we got back.
After a couple tries, B decided that he wanted to try all by himself. Not have Marcus help him out at all. Would you believe that the little bugger got up on his first try! Not only that, he started going one handed. Pulling down his shorts and waving to dad.
Man, I love it. I love how proud he is of himself. He is awesome. Love him.
Meanwhile, Sean hung out.
So. We have a busy week ahead of us. Between haircuts, baby 4 month checks (SOB), reading clinic, puppy groomer and getting ready go leave for WY/Las Vegas, things are gonna be busy. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone and for a lot of people to meet little Sean for the first time..
We will also have the chance to go to a memorial service for our niece, Nevaeh. You probably remember she was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of cancer… She and her family had gone to Boston in February to have some experimental treatment done at Harvard. She passed on June 24. My heart breaks for April and Dave. I cannot even fathom. I am so lucky and blessed to have known her for the short time she was here.
